We are a registered charity for rescuing and re-homing rough and smooth collies.
Our mission is to relieve the suffering and distress of dogs, in particular rough and smooth collies who are in need of care and attention. We aim to provide temporary shelter, veterinary treatment and permanent homes for such dogs.
Collie Rescue (Rough and Smooth) was formed in 1985 and has a working committee of sixteen who form the basis of the organization, with many caring and dedicated individuals around the country who extend the network. We became a registered charity in 1990.

Between 150 and 200 collies come onto the books annually. If you are interested in adopting or fostering one of our Collies, please contact us. We are always here to give you any help/advice if necessary.

Many Rough Collies that come into our care are either over the age of 10 or found to have specific medical needs and cannot go up for adoption in the normal way. We are lucky enough to have dedicated foster carers where these collies can go to live and receive all the veterinary care, rehabilitation and long-term medication for the many ailments they display, all of which Collie Rescue pay for. Some of this can be very costly and this is where you would be able to help us financially in any way you feel you could afford.
